NICOSIA A small bomb exploded outside the home of the prime minister of the self-declared Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the early hours of Friday, the prime minister's daughter said. A guard outside Dervis Eroglu's official residence was slightly injured and the bomb, which was planted in a rubbish bin, caused some damage to the building next door. Northern Cyprus broke off from the south in 1974 following a Turkish invasion to thwart an Athens-backed military coup. The self-declared republic is recognized only by Turkey.
